BIOGRAPHY

Gracie Metheny, 17 year old West Virginia native, is very passionate about performing.  At the young age of 5, Gracie new she wanted to be an entertainer. The first time on stage in front of a crowd, something ignited in her. She began taking vocal lessons and by age 7, she was taking guitar lessons. The first song she played was “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver. By age 10, she began songwriting. She eventually went on to compete in a contest near Nashville, Tennessee where she took top honors. That landed her an opportunity to record an original song in Nashville that went on to become her first single, Unspeakable, at just 11 years old. Since then, she formed a band that performs with her at numerous events throughout North Central West Virginia, even opening up for various county artists. 

Some of Gracie’s earlier influences were Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Kelsea Ballerini. They have helped guide the direction to bring more women in country music. Gracie has since taken on the role of Christian singer-songwriter. She has many influences including Kari Jobe, Brandon Lake, Cody Carnes, Lauren Daigel, and Maverick City Music. Gracie is a member of the worship team at Jewel City Church in Meadowbrook, West Virginia.

For Gracie, music is her therapy. It takes her to a place where no one judges her and has always been there for her. Music is her way of life. She uses songwriting to heal people. Gracie allows her music to take people away from day-to-day struggles even for just a short time, while making them feel good. She has the ability to write songs that pull on heartstrings. You can feel an instant connection not only with her dynamic vocals but in her subtle picking style on guitar. Music is something she wants to do, and somewhere she wants to be - singing, performing and sharing her music and love of God all over the world.
